Bio-Oils Energy

Bio-Oils Energy centres its activity in the production of biofuels, particularly Fatty Acid Methyl Ester (FAME) or biodiesel. Its strategy focuses on the construction and operation of large scale biodiesel plants which are efficient in costs and are located close to its main consumption point; typically large hydrocarbon refineries which use the biodiesel to blend it with its conventional diesels.

In this context, BioOils and CEPSA have reached an agreement by which BioOils will supply, on an exclusive basis, the entire blending needs for its refinery in La Rábida (Huelva) which is currently established at a rate of 5% of its total diesel output. For that purpose, CEPSA and BioOils will connect the adjunct biodiesel plant by racks and tubes directly with the refinery’s blending unit. This system assures maximum cost efficiency and highest standards of product quality once the blended diesel will reach the final destination at the pump station.

BioOils is highly committed with the environment and therefore uses exclusively production processes which do neither have harmful emissions nor effluents. For that purpose, Bio Oils uses a closed system production process in refining the crude vegetable oils to biodiesel. This process is base on a transesterification unit, whose only by-products are water and natural glycerine. Additionally, biodiesel is a product which is 100% biodegradable and offers a substantially better eco-balance than traditional hydrocarbon fuels showing similar energy coefficients.
